Is gold plated real gold?

Yes. However, the purity of the gold used in the gold plating process is very low. It is done to give the appearance of gold without the cost of using solid gold to make the jewellery. Hence, gold plated jewellery is much more affordable than pure gold jewellery.

Does gold plating fade and tarnish?

Gold plating can fade and tarnish over time, due to the underlying surface getting oxidised. In general, gold plating can last for years with proper care.

Can I wear gold pated jewellery to shower?

No, showering with gold plated jewellery or immersing the jewellery in water for a long period of time can cause the gold layer to wear off completely.

How do I look after gold plated jewellery?

  • Remove your jewellery before showering or swimming.
  • Keep your jewellery away from chemicals such as perfume, cream, hairspray and more.

925 silver is also known as sterling silver, made from 92.5 percent of silver and 7.5 percent of alloy.

An electroplating process is done on 925 silver which a thin layer of gold/rose gold is coated over 925 silver. Hence, the 925 silver jewellery appears in gold/rose gold colour.

Is 925 silver suitable for sensitive skin?

There is no nickel in the composition of 925 silver. So if you have allergic skin, sterling silver jewellery is the right option for you.

Does 925 silver jewellery tarnish?

925 silver will tarnish over time, and it’s because air exposure causes it to oxidise. You can use a polishing cloth to clean your oxidised jewellery. 

Can I wear 925 silver jewellery to shower?
